Hearing Loss Network Computer Classes

If you have a hearing loss, you probably know the frustration of trying to learn something about an unfamiliar, complex topic in conventional classes. Adult education classes or community college classes are great for those who can benefit from them. Too often people with hearing loss don't understand enough of the verbal information to learn anything in those classes. That's why Hearing Loss Network offers computer classes for people with hearing loss.

We offer a beginning computer class for those with virtually no computer experience. When you complete this class, you'll be able to get and send email, write a letter, surf the Internet, and even play a game or two! Many people with hearing loss find that email access greatly improves their quality of life! It's a wonderful way for anyone to stay in touch on a regular basis, but it's especially important for people who have trouble using the phone. If you've ever dreamed about being able to use a computer, but were concerned that you'd never be able to use it, this is your opportunity to realize that dream.

We've had a few requests for intermediate computer classes, including a couple from people who have completed our beginning class. We're open to this idea, but struggling with the fact that everyone wants to learn something different. Logical classes at this point would include virtually all of the Microsoft Office components, including Word, Excel, Access, and FrontPage, as well as a multitude of graphics and peripheral applications. If you're interested in any of these intermediate classes, please let us know.
